Free Gay Book Wednesday (Also my birthday!)

Hi everyone, stuck at work, as usual. But stopping in to share some free m/m love.

Fighting fires is Luke Taylor’s calling. Mastering the seductive, deadly dance of the flames helps him save people and animals. He’s not afraid to put his muscular body and life on the line to do some good in the world. All that’s missing is someone special to share his life with.

I'm failing in January already.

I get super excited and write every day in December, then I think I'm gonna continue that in Jan, but then my job hits me. The first official full week of January is one of the most hectic weeks at my place of employment. We work 10 hours shifts, work through lunch, and just go absolutely crazy.

I feel like I've aged 5 years already (and tomorrow is my birthday!). I hope when this craziness is over, I'll get back to writing and creating art again! I have all these hopeless WIP drabbles that are abandoned and I need to pick them back up.

In more positive news, I am listening to this audiobook (It's 9+ hours) and it's pretty fantastic. It's all about magic, and dragons, and kings and courting, and consort and so far it's fairly tame (sexual-wise), I have no clue if NC-17 things are coming up (my reason to read m/m romance, lol) but the writing is so good and I'm in love with the MC's fire and his super bisexual BFF-chick that it's just so good.

If you get a chance, do check it out in print or audio.

I am about 7 hours in and excited for the last 2 hours of the book! It makes my commute to and from work so much better.

(Free) Gay Book Day - A Story I've read.

This one popped up on my feed yesterday and I didn't get a chance to do GAY BOOK WEDNESDAY - so here's a late entry. I've actually listened on audio this book and it's sequel. Though, the sequel is more my favourite (rich!POC character for the win) - this one is fake relationship trope that I love to pieces. It's not perfect but it's worth a read - and you should def. check it out cuz it's free on KINDLE right now! This author is an excellent writer and I love their style a lot. It's not too cheesy and honestly, just get it. LOL. IMG: NSFW

My review on goodreads is here, but it has spoilers.

Free Gay Book Wednesday!

Hi everyone, so I am back today with a new one for you - and it's FREE, as always. (I've actually listened to this book on audio last year or the one before. It's about pretend relationship and bisexuality). I wasn't too crazy about the story itself but the sex was definitely hot and worth the read - lol.

Still, as many of you may know PRETEND RELATIONSHIP is my JAM so it's worth adding it to your collection for a cold, rainy or snowy night. (My issue w/ it was mainly rich white people having rich white problems in NAPA VALLEY...) Still - I'm kind of a hater, anyway.

Have I sold you on this book yet? LOL. See below...

My two free gay books of the day.

Must be gay book Wednesday. I just found these gems on AMAZON for free for Kindle. Check 'em out.

book 1 )

Would It Be Okay to Love You? is the first book in a gay romance series set in Japan. If you like original characters, nerd culture, and simmering chemistry, then you’ll love Amy Tasukada’s charming multicultural love story.

book 2 )

"Includes moments of pure hilarity, off-the-wall sex, and downright fun."

As always just sharing the love -- and making no profit. Although, they should pay me. HAHA.

April m/m audiobook recap

I realized that I actually haven't done a recap since December 2017 but below is April 2018. LOL. Since I made a table for this one.

In April, I was travelling for a little bit and these days I tend to not listen to new books at the beginning of the month because I am just frustrated w/ every author, like, ever. Haha, but eventually, it ended up being a good month.

Trios may not be the norm, but for these men, the answer to the equation of love just might be three.

List of 2017 (mostly) gay books & thoughts

I have been pretty lazy about it and honestly, I didn’t even do any AUDIOBOOK recaps since Nov 2017. But here’s a recap list of all my 2017 – mostly gay – some threesomes and one lesbian book I read/listened to.

Total #: 64. And more than 500 hours of listening.

My 2016 list was 84 books, so I went down exactly 20 books in 2017. I think I just really needed a huge break from listening and obsessing and in 2017, I hated a lot more books than I liked.
[THE LIST IS ON DW b/c it was too long for LJ/IJ]

5 The Lawrence Browne Affair (The Turner Series, #2) Sebastian, Cat 7.5 hours A- Nov 26, 2017
35.5 hours

This was a pretty decent month, I thought - regarding the quality of the books. "More than this" is a YA pg-13 book that [livejournal.com profile] writcraft recommended and I have to say it was pretty great. The 11 hours just flew by and the author did a great job really getting into the main character's head. I really appreciated everything about each character and it's a dark story with a sci-fi twist I was not expecting. The surprise of the month came from my newly discovered author "Cat Sebastian" who is just pretty amazing at writing historical gay fiction. The two books in the series that I finished were incredible in their own way and I loved her take on all the characters. I'm in love with Cat's writing style.

Audiobook / LGBT book recap - August, September, Ocotber 2017

So here’s the news… I cancelled my AUDIBLE ACCOUNT. LIKE omg. Everytime I go on audible.com, they show me this sweet message:

But the OTHER news is that I still have about 15 audiobooks purchased in my library that I need to get through. So I cancelled my account, but I am going to renew it in 6 months. I just don’t want to pay 15.00 dollars a month when I have an extensive library.

I also haven’t updated my list of audiobooks since July.

So below is the list for Aug/Sept/Oct 2017 and about 60+ hours of audiobooks. September was pretty low b/c I was out of the country for 2.5 weeks and then I was playing catch up on ALL THE FESTS and MOD duties. Sigh.

Free LGBT [F/F] book Wednesday!

I got an email about this today and realized I've already purchased it. it's free today on AMAZON!

Can a house save the lives of the people who live in it? Can an inscription written in a book over sixty years ago change the fates of people not even born when it was written?

Beryl Gray is solid and dependable – her partner, Claire, thinks so, her family thinks so, her colleagues think so. She has a long-term relationship and a job she likes as a university librarian. Her life seems settled, content – except nothing is as it seems.

Aggie Bishop's last girlfriend left her three years ago and she hasn't had a date since. Her life now revolves around work and taking care of her great-aunt Cory who doesn't want to be taken care of. Aunt Cory still lives in the run-down mansion that the rest of the family wants to sell if they can only get the old lady into a nursing home. Aggie is all that stands between them and her great-aunt.

When Beryl finds a book with a romantic inscription dated 1945, the events that follow will change the lives of all three women forever.

Spanning decades, this enchanting tale reminds us that some loves never fade and that sometimes, home truly is where the heart lies. (approx. 81,000 words)

Free Gay Book Wednesday

Free on amazon today. I bought this book a couple of years ago when it was free and then read it while waiting for Jury Duty. It was a fun read w/ lots of hot sex and some drama and slight mystery.

If you're feeling bored, you should pick it up. I know now it's on audiobook also but I wasn't crazy about the narrator so I didn't get it in audio yet. However, it's def. worth the $0 today.

Link here.

Jon Beatty thought he’d found the best man for him until Craig walked out. To add insult to injury, Craig's got a new lover—a woman—and wants Jon to be a different kind of best man…at his wedding.

Reasoning that the only way to get over one man is to get under another, Jon heads out to Wilde’s, the night club on Capitol Hill famous for its hot clientele and hotter bartenders. Jon just wants to get drunk and get laid, and bartender Liam Sable is more than willing to help with both.

Their one night stand turns into a rebound fling, but as Jon moves on with Liam, Craig starts having second thoughts about the break-up. His tiresome antics are the least of Jon and Liam’s worries, though. The least annoying, and the least dangerous…

Audiobook Recap: May, June, July 2017

It’s been a while since I updated my audiobook posts. I was quite busy in May and June to do it, and then in June, I didn’t really listen to much b/c I just wasn’t feeling it. I put my audible account on hold because of the “not into it” and legit every gay audiobook I picked up, it was just more and more cliché, and I couldn’t stand it. It was also in June, I decided that I was going to eventually write a short gay (m/m) original fiction b/c (I’m sorry to say) there’s so much trash out there and I really need to write something I want to read.

You know what I’m saying?

Anyway, below is the list for May – July 2017. It doesn’t compare to my past updates but I am/was paying for this service and in July, I kinda lucked out and got to listen to SOME decent books.

I also listened to one female queer book for my GF’s bookclub. It’s called: Juliet takes a breath. I truly enjoyed it, and def. recommend it for queer POC people as it discusses a lot of things young queer people go through in a white world.

Anyway, here’s the list. Man, I’ve been slacking. I read some short stories on my phone too, but I had been so uninspired by life in May and June, I didn’t make any records of them. I’ll have to go and hunt them later.

Free Gay Book Wednesday

And I'm back with a new free book notification for you guys. This one looks promising *I hope*. Free on Amazon for about a week!

‘Top Men’- Mickey and Jeff- The police officers you grew to love from GA’s Action! and Hero Series, back again to give fans a wild ride into the darkest secrets and desires of COPS.

Two of LAPD’s finest, Officer Jeff Chandler and his partner Mickey Stanton, have been together on duty for three years. When Mickey first met Jeff, a lateral transfer from Rain City- Seattle, he was crazy about him. When the men were assigned to a two-man patrol car, Jeff and Mickey’s attraction blossomed. And from then on, it was playtime!

On the street, Jeff and Mickey were tough and fearless, doing their job to protect and serve, but the testosterone charged pair were wild and out of control with their passion for each other. They loved doing risqué acts on duty and craved the adrenalin rush, until Jeff becomes burned out with patrol. His ambition is to rise up in the ranks. Soon the two men are at odds with what direction their careers should take, and Mickey resents Jeff for wanting to split up their team.

As friction begins to develop between them, they still have to continue battling the crime on LA’s streets. Between the raging fury and the sexual heat of their relationship, there is true love, and that love is put to the ultimate test, nearly ending in tragedy.
